Protection: stop calling every RhinoShield case an “11-foot case”
The old CASEBX review centered an 11-foot number and applied it broadly across SolidSuit, Mod NX and other older RhinoShield families. RhinoShield’s current iPhone 17 SolidX page uses a different and more specific description: reinforced corners and shock grooves absorb up to 71% of impact force, and the case exceeds military standards.
That 71% figure is RhinoShield’s own manufacturer claim. It should not be converted into a foot-based score or compared directly with another brand’s “3X,” “7X” or fixed-height drop claim unless the same independent protocol is used.
Camera Control is a major current-generation upgrade
For iPhone 17, RhinoShield pre-installs a black Camera Control button made with carbon nanotube material on supported designs. RhinoShield says the conductivity of the CNT material allows responsive capacitive interaction with the phone’s Camera Control surface.
This is more relevant to a 2026 iPhone buyer than the old article’s generic button-feel claims from an alleged hands-on test.
MagSafe: choose the compatible configuration
RhinoShield offers SolidX in MagSafe-compatible configurations. Current specifications list neodymium magnets on the magnetic version. Buyers should select the correct configuration rather than assuming every historical SolidSuit or SolidX case has the same magnetic hardware.
