Presidio2 Grip MagSafe: best all-around Speck choice
Presidio2 Grip remains Speck's most recognizable protective design. Speck says small air capsules inside the case compress during impact and describes the case as offering up to 13-foot drop protection. The current version uses inverted no-slip grips rather than the old protruding rubber-strip look many people associate with earlier Speck cases.
The MagSafe version costs $49.99. A non-MagSafe Presidio2 Grip is also currently listed at $39.99, so buyers should check the exact model rather than assuming every Grip case includes magnets.
Presidio Perfect-Clear MagSafe: best clear option
Perfect-Clear MagSafe is also $49.99 and carries Speck's current 13-foot manufacturer claim. Speck markets it with an anti-yellowing clear finish. Some versions add grip, and some add ClickLock, so the exact product title matters.
The previous review claimed CASEBX had performed long-term yellowing and scratch testing. We have removed those unsupported results. Clear-case aging depends on UV exposure, heat, oils and the exact materials used.
What is ClickLock?
Speck also sells ClickLock versions at the same $49.99 price tier. ClickLock adds Speck's physical interlock feature intended to help compatible MagSafe accessories stay aligned. It is not necessary for ordinary MagSafe charging, but it can be useful if you use accessories designed around the ClickLock system.
Protection numbers need context
Speck publishes the same 13-foot headline for several current Presidio iPhone 17 cases. That is a manufacturer test claim, not a guarantee that every real-world drop will be harmless. Surface, impact angle, phone condition and repeated drops all matter.
Microban and antimicrobial claims
The old article described an internal CASEBX experiment proving odor and bacterial performance. That claim has been removed.
